- Dispute it yourself: Here is a website will all the tools you need. CreditScoreQuick under the blog.
- What do you do for a living? If I were a mechanic I would repair my car myself. You could use a credit repair company for their credit repair services just make sure they are a reputable company. You could represent yourself in court or have a lawyer. Its up to you. If you decide to do it yourself, read "The Fair Credit Reporting Act" for some pointers.
- Save the money and do it yourself. Disputing errors on your credit report is extremely easy. You just list the items and what's wrong. Doesn't even need to be complete sentences. Legitimate items will stay on your report for 7 years till they age off. Despite the claims credit repair companies make, there is not special letter or magic forumla to make those go away. Even if you pay off all your old debt, you will still need at least 24 months of consistent, on time payment history to improve your score.
- If you go through a credit repair company, your credit suffers for a few and then will get better. Credit repair companies can get a MUCH lower interest rate on the remaining balances than you personally can. If you are serious about it, it is worth the time and effort put into the service. They do charge for their services, but its minimal and much less than what you would be paying in interest alone on one credit card. Goodluck

- It depends on if you want to pay or not. If you do not mind paying the money then get a company. If you mind then you can dispute yourself. they both have the same result. A site I've used for info in the past ... http://debt.knowledged.info/credit_card.html Hope that helps.
