Has anybody used a Credit Repair(Restoration) company?
I'm trying to improve my credit score because I would like to buy a home. My credit score is around 500....Has anybody used a Credit Repair(Restoration) company? How much does your credit score go up? Thank you.

- I used academylaw.com, my credit improved over 100 points in one year. I don't trust those get credit fast scemes, but this worked over time, 3 years later my credit is xlnt. I just got approved for a card with an $8000 limit. I stopped the program after 1 year.
- Don't use a company. You can do it all yourself for free. These companies just launch disputes on every derogatory item and then sit bac kand wait to see if anything goes through. Get your free reports at www.annualcreditreport.com, then dispute every late pay, collection, charge-off, etc. Say things like "never late" or "paid in full' or "no knowledge of this account". The the bureaus relay your dispute and the companies have to verify it. if they dont respond in 30 days, it gets deleted. Some companies, especially if they already got paid, will just let it get deleted. your score can rise 100+ points this way, but only if you get a little lucky. Worth a shot!
