How can I get my money back?
I met this guy in credit repair business from the same office building, and he told me he could actually boost my credit up in 90 days. So I signed up with him & paid him a fee of $ 2000 for his service, after that I started to monitor my credit online on a daily basis. It's been 90 days, & nothing's happend. He happens to be the middle guy between consumer & the actual company that does the credit boost. I noticed later on that he closed his office, his website gone, and so I started thinking that his business was a scam. I can still contact him over the phone, he still tells me that he's trying to work it, but I'm pretty sure if I tell him to pay back I doubt he'll ever giveme back the money. How can I make him pay? It also sucks that he's got my information too!

- Yep it does suck! He scammed you, there is no easy fix when it comes to repairing credit! You can take him to small claims court but you'll probably never see a dime and you will end up paying filing fees. You can file a police report in your state he may have violated a law. Good luck
- You are totally screwed. Sorry.
- did you get an invoice or reciept of any kind ? how did you pay him ? - not in cash i hope ! file a fraud complaint with the police and depending where you live - you should see a lwayer. maybe you can ask for a court order having him repay you or face imprisonment. good luck and i always advise that the guy should deliver then get paid.
- The only way for you to get your money back is to take him to court. There is no other way. Start with a small claims court (amount is under $5,000). You can also file a case against him in the superior court of your county. Sue him for all the court fees as well (on top of that $2,000).
- My friend, you have just learned a $2000.00 lesson in life. Unless you can prove a scam has indeed happened, there is little you can do. I would go to the police, tell them what has happened, and see if there is anything that they can do to help you. With you having an active phone number, they might be able to do something. But I think you can pretty much kiss that 2 grand goodbye. . .
- If you have proof that you paid this person the $2000.00 you have a good case for fraud! His guarantee said 90 days and this has not happened! This is also breach of contract! Turn over the contact phone # to your local law inforcement agency and they can guide you thru the process! Hope this helps
- First of all, being too willing to part with your money is what got you into the position of needing your credit repaired. Secondly, being too willing to part with your money is how this scam artist ripped you off. Thirdly, applying that $2,000 towards your bills would've helped boost your credit. Lastly, my advice is notice that what you did first and second are the exact same things. I see a pattern here, don't you? So, I would cut my losses and consider it a lesson.
- There are legit companies out there who really can repair your credit. There are laws requiring companies to prove you owe them and other laws that have something to do with bankruptcy. They can get those off your credit. It is not a fast process. With good research you could do most of it yourself. I can not say much for the company you used. It might be best to take the guy to small claims court. I hope you got a receipt or some sort of contract. A time line would have been helpful also. Cleaning up credit is a very slow process.
