Do the instant credit and FICO repair companies really work?
Whether it be legal or not is not my concern, I just want to know if I can really raise my score by paying someone to remove negative items.

- It doesn't work. They dispute all the negative items, which temporarily makes them invisible to people checking your credit. Once the items are proven to be legitimate, they are again shown on your report.
- I have used nationwide credit consultants before now and it worked, but only for debt which i had cleared.
- I used a credit repair company in 2006. They were able to raise my score by 80 pts in 30 time frame. It made it possible to buy a house. However, over time some things have started reappearing again. So yes it worked but it apparently isn't long term..
