Does anybody know anything about ccrs credit repair service? Is it reputable?

I just want to know if it really fixes your credit and that the money you pay them is worth it. I want to make sure there is no fraud involved.

  1. www.ripoffreport.com should have information on whatever repair service you are interested in. I think that you might consider saving the money that you were thinking about paying them and use it yourself to pay your own bills. Some have said that using a service like this is of negligable benefit to your credit in that the creditors will still take the smaller payments but since it is not the full amount, they have the option of updating your credit report with several late pays I would vote against this but whatever you decide, get information about the service BEFORE you sign up. This information should include at the very least, a list of the fees that they charge.
  2. I would check with the National Association for Credit Counseling first. NFCC.org They have a list of non-profit credit counseling services. Often, a reputable credit counseling service can negotiate with your creditors on your behalf, possibly reducing your interest rates and late fees. But you can also try negotiating yourself. It is not that hard! Good luck!
  3. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) considers these repair services a ripoff. You may as well flush your money down the toilet. They cannot really do much for your credit. The best way to repair your credit is to pay the bills, and try to catch up as soon as possible. Direct phone calls to the creditors is the best way to have interaction and get your payments back on schedule. They would prefer to have you pay them in full than have a collection service get involved. They have to discount your account in order to have them buy your account.
  4. I've heard they do some good things, however, what they fail to tell you is any credit "counseling" you opt for, since you're paying for it, will show up on your credit and can do some pretty bad damage. My husband is a car salesman and says they don't even call the finance companies for people who come in to purchase a car with credit counseling on their credit reports, because it shows lack of responsibility. It says to the lender that you are simply not a good credit risk because you can't handle your debt. So you should decide if credit counseling is worth the damage it will do to your credit score. I've bookmarked this site... http://debt.123thebest.info/credit_card.html Good Luck.
